Ah, gli orti verticali…

Build an A-Frame Vegetable Trellis for Small Footprint GardeningIf you’d like to grow climbing vegetables in a small space, this simple DIY vegetable trellis is an excellent compliment to a small garden.

Over at the garden-centric site the Vegetable Gardner, they share a simple and easy to build design for a sturdy vegetable trellis. The over all design isn’t revolutionary but they’ve included an element that ensures your trellis has a long life and can be repaired with minimal waste:

My design has a unique feature that I haven’t seen anywhere else. It actually came out of necessity due to some termite damage and rot the trellis sustained one year. It builds in replaceable “feet” that you know in time will deteriorate.

You can see the feet in the closeup photo above, it’s a great design feature because it’s wasteful to rebuild a whole trellis just because the last 4 inches of the legs are rotten. Check out the full build-guide at the link below, you’ll need some basic raw material like 1x6s, a pair of hinges, some chicken wire, screws, and other small shop items. Have a gardening DIY trick to share? Let’s hear about it in the comments.
